Denpasar – Menyikapi beredarnya video di media sosial yang menyebut telepon genggam seorang yang mengaku sebagai wartawan dirampas oleh Kapolresta Denpasar saat berada di Polsek Kuta, Polresta Denpasar memberikan penjelasan agar masyarakat memperoleh informasi yang utuh dan tidak terpengaruh oleh narasi yang tidak sesuai dengan fakta.
Kapolresta Denpasar Kombes Pol. Leonardo David Simatupang, S.I.K., M.H. menjelaskan bahwa peristiwa tersebut berawal dari penanganan laporan dugaan tindak pidana pengancaman dan penganiayaan yang terjadi di Bali Sun Tropical Hotel & Spa, Jalan Lebak Bene, Legian, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, pada Sabtu (11/7/2026) sekitar pukul 21.30 Wita.
Dalam perkara tersebut, pria yang kemudian mengaku sebagai wartawan berstatus sebagai pihak terlapor dalam laporan yang sedang ditangani oleh Polsek Kuta.
“Berdasarkan keterangan pelapor dan para saksi, perselisihan bermula dari cekcok yang kemudian berkembang menjadi dugaan pengancaman dan pelemparan benda. Terlapor juga diduga membawa benda yang menyerupai brass knuckle serta mengucapkan ancaman kepada pihak pelapor. Atas kejadian tersebut, personel kepolisian mendatangi lokasi dan membawa para pihak ke Polsek Kuta untuk dilakukan penanganan sesuai prosedur,” jelas Kapolresta Denpasar.
Kapolresta menambahkan, saat berada di Polsek Kuta, terlapor datang dalam kondisi yang diduga dipengaruhi minuman beralkohol dan masih membawa sebotol minuman keras. Yang bersangkutan kemudian mengaku berprofesi sebagai wartawan. Namun ketika diminta menunjukkan kartu pers sebagai identitas profesinya, terlapor menyampaikan bahwa kartu tersebut berada di kamar hotel.
Sekitar pukul 02.00 Wita, Kapolresta Denpasar tiba di Polsek Kuta untuk memantau secara langsung proses penanganan perkara sekaligus berupaya menenangkan situasi agar tetap kondusif.
“Dalam situasi tersebut saya meminta agar aktivitas merekam atau memvideokan dihentikan untuk sementara demi menjaga ketertiban dan kelancaran proses penanganan perkara. Permintaan tersebut bukan merupakan tindakan merampas telepon genggam milik yang bersangkutan dan sama sekali tidak dimaksudkan untuk menghalangi kerja jurnalistik,” tegas Kapolresta.
Ia menjelaskan bahwa pada saat itu yang bersangkutan merupakan pihak terlapor dalam suatu perkara dan belum dapat dimintai keterangan secara optimal karena kondisi yang bersangkutan saat itu.
Lebih lanjut, Kapolresta Denpasar menyampaikan bahwa hasil pemeriksaan urine yang dilakukan oleh Satresnarkoba Polresta Denpasar menunjukkan hasil positif benzodiazepine. Namun demikian, hasil tersebut masih memerlukan pendalaman lebih lanjut, termasuk kemungkinan adanya penggunaan obat berdasarkan resep dokter atau indikasi medis tertentu, sehingga tidak dapat langsung disimpulkan sebagai penyalahgunaan narkotika.
“Kami mengedepankan asas praduga tak bersalah. Hasil pemeriksaan tersebut masih memerlukan pendalaman sesuai mekanisme yang berlaku dan tidak serta-merta menjadi dasar untuk menyimpulkan adanya penyalahgunaan narkotika,” ujarnya. Kapolresta Denpasar juga mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak mudah mempercayai potongan video maupun narasi yang beredar tanpa memahami keseluruhan kronologi kejadian.
